My archived journey to Mozambique - Week #2

DSCF4921

Hello everyone! I haven't done of these in a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig while. So a quick catch up, in December 2010 I went to Mozambique for a month mainly for a family member wedding and my uncle's 50th Birthday. I have already done one post about my journey about my first week [see here] so today I will talk about my second week, that it was a bit more calm than the first.
On the 13th I reckon I just stayed at home, I say this because I have no pictures of that day so probably nothing happened and we just stayed home recovering from the last 4 days. On the 14th of December I finally got to see my grandmother (my father's mom), the last time I saw her was back in 2001. I spent the afternoon with her catching up and gave her some photos of her three great-grandchildren (my brother's kids). It's so hard to have family members that live so far away :(.

 On the 15th we had to wake up reeaaalllyyy early like 5AM because my cousin Deny had to travel to South Africa to buy some stuff for his father's company. So me and my other cousin her husband and their kid joined our cousin Deny for the ride.
So we started our journey pretty early, unfortunately the weather was very crappy, cloudy and sort of rainy. It probably took us like one hour till we reached the country borders, so papers had to be filled in and the we continued our trip. As soon as you cross the borders you immediately notice that you are in a different country haha. The roads are better, the nature around us is denser (like more trees) and greener. Once we reached our destination, Nelspruit, we first went to one of those like department stores that sell like constructions stuff and what not and then we went to a shopping mall and ate some lunch and theeeen the best part of the day and the reason we went to South Africa was to go to Kruger National Park! If you don't know Kruger Park is basically like going to the Zoo but in a Safari way, basically you go with your one car and be face to face with the animals. We saw some elephants, impalas, baboons, hyenas, that place is huuuuge! It was so much fun and I hope I can go there one day again and take more pictures, I was quite unlucky because my battery started to get weak and I didn't take any backup batteries :/ baahhh.
After than we went home, once we reached the country's border again we had to go and show our passports and one thing that it didn't crossed my mind was that I had to pay for my Visa again :o! So another like €70 I payed, well actually my cousins' did >.<. Once we got home we were very hungry and very tired.

Is time to PACK!

Here I go again! In just like 2 days and a half I will be flying early in the morning to London >.<.
God I still can't believe it's happening, and still I have so much shiz to do. I haven't been able to Blog as much as I wanted for this year so far, but I really been busy, going here and there to buy stuff, take care of other stuff before I leave, and now I have to start packing.
I'm not a light traveler, I'm defo one of those people that when they travel they take their house behind haha -_-.
You would assume that with all the travelling I've been doing for the last 3 years I would have the type of situation dominated LIKE A BOSS, but not quite.
This week I "discovered" two like beauty Youtubers/Bloggers from the U.K., and as I watched their hauls videos of clothes and makeup I started thinking.... "huummm I don't need to take all my handbags, much makeup, many this and that, 'cause I won't control myself and I'm defo gonna SHOP over there muuuhahaha". So by watching their video it made me rethink what I'm going to take with me to London.
Okei, of I go now, to continue with the packing, tomorrow I have to run some more errands >.< uuuff!

My archived journey to Mozambique - Week #1

OMG I can’t believe that it has been a year already >.<. At this hour last year I was in Mozambique, preparing myself for another day of family fun. Oh yeah, most of you probably don’t know, I have family in Mozambique, my parents are from Mozambique, but I was born in Portugal.
I’ve been to Moz. (aka Mozambique) twice now, first time was back in 2001, during Summer vacation from High School, my uncles from my mother’s side paid my ticket, so that way I could meet my family members that I never met before, specially my grandparents (from my mom’s and my father’s side) I was 15 years old, I stayed there for like 3 months and I returned to Portugal just a couple of days after the 9/11 attack in New York, OMG I was so scared flying back home.

In December 2010, I returned to Moz. for a month, my uncle from my father’s side, paid me and other family members that live in Portugal, tickets to go to Moz. so that we could go to his eldest son’s wedding. Unfortunately my parents could not go, because my father was still kinda sick and the Doctor advice him not to go due to his health, so my mother stayed with him :(. That situation sucked like crazy bananas, because since my parents left Moz, about 27 years ago, they have never returned, can you imagine not seeing your brothers and parents for more than 20 years?:/

I need some Roadtrip advices! #1

Hello everyone! How you all been doing? Working much? Vacation much?
Today is my day off, I have a friend over my place Vanny Vans, and we were suppose to go to the Zoo today, but since is 10am now, I don´t know if it is still worth going today, we'll see.

Anyways, I would like to ask for some advices from all of you, if possible, in about two weeks I'll be doing sort of a roadtrip, and I'm TERRIBLE in planning things like this, I don't know what to visit on those places, best way to travel, best place to sleep over, meh!
Even thought some other friends of mine gave some suggestions - which I of course appreciate it -, I don´t think there is such a thing of too much advices for roadtripping :P. So I thought of asking you guys for more tips.

My roadtrip plan is suppose to be something like this:
Italy
. I will travel from Prague (Czech Republic) to Veneza (Italy) in some nocturnal transport (train or bus), and stay there for two days.

.Next stop Modena (Italy) - to see the Ferrari Museum .... not my personal choice lol - we will stay there just for the day.

.And on the evening move to Milano (Italy), and stay for 2 days aswell.

France
.And then from Milano (Italy) to Paris (France) possibly on a nocturnal transport again, and aswell stay over for 2 days. I'm probably not going up the Eiffel tower... I heard the queues are maaasssiivveeeee.

Spain
.And last stop, from Paris (France) to Barcelona (Spain), travelling either by airplane, or again by night with a bus or train, and stay for 2 days.

After Spain I will return to Prague by airplane.

So what do you guys recommend?

Countdown..... to Prague....

This is it y'all >.<
I'm like 7 hours away of going to the airport. My flight is at 9:05am, and arrives at 15:30 +/- in Prague (don't know if that is portuguese time, or Czech time lol).
After alot of fighting with the bags, I think Im able to take everything I need, just hope that the scales at the airport don't mess with me -_- .
According to my Windows Vista weather thingy, it is -1ºC and snowing in Prague bbbrrrrrrrr aaaahhhhh >.< GEEZUS! I might get sick right on the first week >.< lol.
Wish me luck in finding a nice bedroom for myself to stay for the next 7 months *fingers crossed*

Done aaaaand DONE! Prague here I come

On Monday I went shopping with my Mother, for a few little things that I need to take with me to Prague. Next week I'll be moving to Prague, I'm gonna do an internship over there for 7 months. I'm excited and nervous at the same time, I guess is normal right? This will be my first time going to Czech Republic ^^, and I'm lucky to know a few people over there, most of them are people that I met when I was studying in Nottingham 09/10, for my Erasmus year. I know a boy named Jay and a girl named Zuzana, I even got to live with them for a month while in Nottingham, but then shenanigans happened (nothing to do with them) and I have to change places. Also I know Eva, Zuzana's sister, and Kamila, Eva's friend ^^. Also I kinda know a girl named Claudia, she studied @ the same Uni as me in Lisbon, Portugal, the year before me 08/09 she did an Erasmus year in Nottingham, and later on she moved to Prague XD.
So I booked my airplane ticket, and I'm flying on the 25th of January >.< aaaahhh, hope no crazy Winter storm ruins my journey -_-.
It feels so weird, 'cause just like a week ago I came back from Mozambique, and now I'm flying off again. Maybe it's better this way, 'cause probably if I stayed longer over here, I would loose all my PUMPNESS and EXCITEMENT!
Tomorrow I will try and post some of the things that I recently bought :p.
xoxo

Je arrivé home ^^ >.< :(

Ssssoooo I'm back in Portugal >.<. My uncle was able to get a ticket for the 7th of January from Maputo, Mozambique to Lisbon, Portugal (my original flight was suppose to be on the 5th of January, but because of some other shenanigans, I wasn't able to catch that flight).
My dear cousin Deny took me to the airport, the check in started at 6am, I basically didn't sleep the night before, my flight was at 8:20am. A flight from Lisbon to Maputo, takes about 10 hours, but in this case the airplane made a stop in Johannesburg, South Africa (yeah my 2nd time in South Africa lol), but I had to stay IN the airplane, for like an hour and a half -_- booorriinngg, and then from there straight to Lisbon. The airplane belonged to the Portuguese airline TAP, but it was one of the older planes, at least comparing to he one that I took from Lisbon to Maputo in early December. The one that I took in December, like everybody had their own personal T.V. monitor, so you could choose whateva you wanted to see, ear, or play, now the airplane that I took 2 days ago, only had like 6 T.Vs. on the middle road, and they showed 1st the News - 1st in Portuguese, then in English - and later 2 Movies - Wall Street 2, and The A-Team - then you had the option of like 10 radio stations, but since I didn't sleep much, I passed most of the flight napping.
The airplane arrived on time in Portugal, about 19:30ish, the boring part was the waiting for the bags.... some bags came out, the ones that had a red priority sticker on it, but then a Lady from the airport warned us that there was gonna be a delay of like 15 minutes, for the rest of the bags to come -_- aaahhh. And then they started coming, and I waited, and waited, and waited, and I was starting to get nervous and afraid, thinking that maybe my bag got lost >.< but no, aleluia!
My parents came to pick me up, and the we went to Queluz were a cousin of my mother lives, and we stayed for the night. I was soooo tired, I think I went to bed at 11pm, and got out of bed on the next day at 12pm, I wanted to stay longer of course, but I couldn't, 'cause we were leaving to our house later.
Once at home, I unpacked my bags, something that I rarely do once I arrived home, unpacking for me, normally is a 1 week process. But this time, I didn't wanna waste time with that.... just to think that later ths month I will have to pack my bag again to Prague, it drives me crazy >.<.
Now I'm gonna go to bed, tomorrow is Sunday, the Official "Coach Potato Day", I will sleep till as long as I can, recovering. and then try to catch up with the loads of series I was watching before I left...
Although Mozambique has a lot of problems (in my point of view) I already miss that place, and all my Family over there. This time around I spent more time in the South of the country than on the North, the 1st time I went to Mozambique in 2001 I spent 2 months and a half on the North (Pemba) and about 2 week on the South (Maputo), this time it was the other way around, but I only spent 1 month in Mozambique, if it wasn't for the fact that I'm going to Prague in February, I would have stayed longer...
I loved being there, and this time I had more adventures, some that I can not write over here haha :p.
As soon as I get my Laptop situation sorted, I will write some more stuff about my journey. Just for the record, my Laptop's battery is completely addicted, and my charger fried o_O yeaahh, so all of my pictures are in my Laptop that I took with me to Mozambique. I have another computer at home (Windows XP Professional 2003), it works, but it's sooo slloooowww, it drives me crazy -_-
Well that's all folks, I leave you with a pic of myself at a beach in Murrebué. I guess it's the name of the "city" or whateva..... that was the warmest water that I ever been in, like WOOW, like insanely HOT!

Still in Mozambique...

Hello everyone.... How was your holidays? And the New Year shenanigans? Mine was quite good, quite different, I went to the beach :p. My aunt has a property on a beach in Murrebué, and me plus a whole a lot of family spent the night over there, I only slept like 2 hours from 4am till 6am, inside my aunts car. Cause the tends were occupied by the grown ups, and the house, was extremely HOT inside, so me and a cousin of mine took a nap in the car. And we woke up at 6am, cause the sun rises freakin' early, and it was allready hot.
Then I had some problems..... and I wasn't able to catch my flight back to Portugal yesterday (5 of January) hhhuuummm yyeaaaahhh :S sssoooooo I'm stuck over here for a while, till my uncle manage to find a way for me to go back, before my Visa expires >.< .
I'm barely gonna stay in Portugal, 'cause in February I start an internship in Prague (Czech Republic). I'm so tired of packing and unpacking -_- .
My laptop is kinda F up right now, the battery is completely addicted :S and the laptop's charger, died x_X ooohhhh lucky me...... My laptop only has a year and 4 months, so is still under warranty (2 years), I just don't know, if the warranty covers the charger's problems :S I really don't feel like spending money, buying a new charger -_- but if I have to, well I HAVE TO, 'cause I will need my Laptop while I'm Prague....
Well that's all for now... since I have a lot of stuff to take home, I will probably have to leave some of my clothes behind :S sssooo I start selecting the clothes.... In a way is a good thing, I have a problem with letting go of stuff and clothes, and since it's a new year, is time to make room for some new clothes :D

In Mozambique.... still alive!

Ciao Girls.
As some of you may know, I'm in Mozambique right now >.< so I won't be posting much over here. I mean, I didn't spent 10 hours in an airplane so that I can stay in front of a computer >.< lol.
One thing I hate doing when travelling is.... packing, yeah I hate it, especially, when I get really in to it, really focus, and someone has to come and bother me every other minute, with a question or a request rsrsrsrrs >.< and then I always end up forgetting something. This time I forgot 3 little things, no big deal, but still...
I went to the Lisbon airport with my Mom, Dad and my big Brother Juca. I wait at the check thingy, for my aunt and cousin. We did the thing with the thing, had some problems, cause my cousin booked a cradle for her baby, and they had no information about that what so what evar -_-'
We had to walk alot, till we reached our terminal. The airport of Lisbon has grown, and if continues to grow, soon it will be like London Heathrow's airport GOD, that takes me like 20 minutes walking, very fast, from the airplane to the checkout, and vice versa.
Anyways, when we reached the terminal, we saw some other relatives of ours that were going with us to Mozambique.
It was time to get in to the airplane and the situation of the cradle is was still not resolved. So me and my aunt got in first, sat down, then I realised I was on the wrong sit, I was on the one behind were I was sitting. But this airplane was cool man, it was coool. How cool you ask? Let me pain you a picture, last time I went to Mozambique in 2001, I went with the company LAM, and the only had 3 songs on a loop, one from All Saints, another from Mariah Carey + 98ºC and another one, when I went and I came back (3 months later) it was STILL the same songs -_- plus I think there was a screen, but it was ONE, waaayyy on the front of the airplane, horrible.... NOW, I flew with TAP, every person has their on tv screen, and you could see (your choice) movies, music, games., Tv series, Tv shows, it was awesome! And the movie, they weren't that old at all,apart from some Christmas movies, they had, Eat,Pray, Love, Inception, Marmaduke, Disaster date, and many others,  I saw 3 movies :P re-saw Inception, and saw for the 1st time Disaster Date, and I saw some parts of the movie, but I saw it all this time, the 3rd X-MEN. And then I played some games.
The journey took like 10 hours :S I probably slept like an 1 hour and a half. OH BIG ADVICE, if you take a nocturnal airplane journey, make sure to take a warm jacket. The air condioner can be very cold, and drinkg lots of water, that shit dries my lungs and mouth up.
I arrived at Maputo (Capital) at 6am, and lucky me, it was a rainy day -_- yeah, in case you don't know, over here is suppose to be Spring, going to Summer time >.<, so it kinda sucks right now.
So I got here, came to my uncles massive house, and I'm super Le tired! I didn't went out a bit with my cousins after our 2nd breakfast, but then after lunch I didn't feel like going out so I went for a nap, I was dying. And also didn't feel like going out on a rainy day, if I wanted that, I could have stayed in Portugal lol.

At the moment I'm on my cousins Computer, we still haven't manage to  connect the wireless internet to my Laptop, so as soon as I do that, I will upload some photos. And probably also on Deviant Art or Flickr.

Kisses to you all

This is what happens when you go to Mozambique...

What happens is, you have to pay 60€ for a Visa, take 4 vaccines, plus pay almost 70€ for the medicine, that most of them you only take them IF you get sick. Oh yeah believe me I cried, I cried when the Lady from the Pharmacy told me the price of the medicine.

The one medicine that I HAVE to take without missing, is Mephaquin (Mefloquina), I have to take once a week, starting this week (one week before travelling), the 4 weeks that I'll be there, and then continuing taking for 4 more weeks after I come back to Portugal.
- Domperidona - In case I feel Nausea or Vomit;
- Loperamida - In case I have Diarrhea -_- ;
- Ciprofloxacina - In case the Loperamida doesn't work, I take these ones that are stronger;
- Redrate - Oral Salts for Hydration , in case I get dehydrated;
- Paracetamol - In case I get a fever;
- Dexaval (Dexametasona) - A cream in case I GET bitten by something,
- Previpiq - An insect repellent, that I have to put on my body thats is not covered by clothes to protect me from the insects (like mosquitoes) so they DON'T bite me and suck my blooooood lol.

Besides all these shenanigans, I took 4 vaccines, one of them was repeated (Hepatitis A) I had to take 2 shots, the 1st one was in October, and the 2nd shot you take a month later, and I took it today.
The first time I took the Hepatitis A vaccine, I took another 2, yeah 3 shots in one day, mega cocktail, and yes as a secondary effect I had a fever. And when it came, it came HARD >.<

I should start packing now.... but I'm feeling lazy, I hate packing BAH, I never know if what I'm taking is enough, or if I'm gonna need it >.<
