Goodbye Seven Sisters and Hello Streatham Hill

For the last nine months I've been living in Seven Sister (North-East London) with some family members of mine. It got to a point that because of my job that if I lost my last train home it would probably take me like 2 hours to go home by bus, maybe two or three of them even and I didn't fancy that. So afters looking for a place for a few months I finally found a bedroom. I'm now living in the South and the good thing about this area is that if I do miss the train, I have a bus that go straight to my area. It has been a week since I've moved in and most of the unpacking is done. Things have been slow due to a lack of free time, so I do things bit by bit. But so far I'm enjoying living there, let's see when the rest of the house mates move in, it will still be fun.

Ear piercing 1st 2014

EN: It has been about fifteen years I think since I last pierced my ears. I did my first two piercings when I was about three months old and then when I was about twelve years old (if I'm not mistaken) I begged and I mean I beeeeeeged my mother to do my second piercing on my right ear. I admit that I only wanted to do because all of my friends were also doing it, the same way that I wanted to do this stupid blonde streak highlight on my hair at the age of 11/12 but my mother also didn't let me do it but in a way thank God haha.
So back to the piercing I asked my mother she said no and then she tells me to ask my father, so I asked him and he didn't care and told me to go ask my mom (-_-), so I asked again and very much against her will and because I wouldn't shut up about it she let me do it. So back in the late 90's - Oh God I feel so freaking old - in my little town if you wanted to get a normal piercing on your ear (lobe) you would go to a jewellery store. Yes it's true. Back then they used to have this pistol gun, they would just put the earring on it and "bang" done haha. Pretty fast and pretty painless.
After that I never did another piercing, is not that I gave up on the idea of doing more but it wasn't a priority - not that is now as well. For a long time I wanted to do on my nose but after spending a analysing my face and how it would look I gave up. I was never into doing belly button, my tongue, my eyebrow, lips, boobs, genitalia or in other body parts, I basically just want to pierce my ears.
Last Saturday (25th of Jan.) me and my cousin plus two friends of hers went to a Tattoo and Piercing shop called Studio 69 located in Walthamstow (North-East London). I decided to do on my ear rim - as they call it -  I was a bit nervous because I had no idea how much it was going to hurt but actually it was pretty painless. You feel going in but is nothing unbearable, at least for me, it was a very fast procedure. It has been five day and I think that it's healing pretty well, the only annoying thing is when it's time to sleep fffuuuuu, I couldn't sleep on my right side and they also recommend not to sleep on the side that you were pierced for the firsts days. Other than that I just have to clean it twice per day, with Saline solution (which is normally used to clean contact lenses) or warm water with salt and the healing process goes from six to eight months.
It cost £15 and since it was my first time, I got a £5 discount voucher, so next time I go I might do my earlobes.
Do you guys have or like piercings? I also want to do tattoos but that is a bigger investment.

London | 4 months

EN: Since the 19th of September, last week, it has been four months since I moved to London. Time freaking flies!
It has been four months since I said goodbye to my friends and family for the forth time and this time it was "for good". It doesn't mean that I won't see them ever again but that I will spend less time with them and probably miss out in a lot of good moments. With my other abroad experience I would be away for a few months and then go back to Portugal for a few months as well but now I won't be able to stay in Portugal for very long but also because I want to be able to explore other countries which has always been a dream of mine. My plan is to go to Portugal this Summer because I have a friend's wedding and my friend's daughter christening so let's see how things go.
Right now I'm thankful that I have a job, even though it's far from my dream job, I don't even earn enough so that I can live comfortably and pay for a bedroom + extra bills + public transport. I'm very lucky that I have family in London and they let me live with them until I get settled.
It is time to start looking for a better job! Something with better scheduled, 9AM to 5PM, Monday to Friday and most importantly with a better pay check.
2014 hasn't been easy breezy for me, besides some personal shenanigans that I'm going through, recently my cousin's father passed away and then this weekend one of my best friends father also passed away, plus a family member of mine had to be rushed to the hospital, sssooooo it has been intense and stressful month.
I won't lie that sometimes I second guess my decision to move to London but I know that overall it was for the best.
xoxo

London | STOMP

EN:  I'm going to try and do a new segment on my Blog. Since I'm living in London and every now and then I visit new places, I thought I might as well share it with you. So these type of posts will be named "London | (the name of the place or show)". Let me know if you would like more of these kind of posts.
I will start with a show that I watched on my second day in London, it was STOMP! I've known about STOMP for years but this was the first time that I actually saw them perform live. A friend of mine had some tickets because some else gave them to her, so the four of us went to see it. The show was at the Ambassadors Theatre located in West Street (WC2H 9ND), the place is about 100 years old and the closest Underground stations are Leicester Square or Covent Garden.
If I'm not mistaken the show started at 20:00 and it was about an hour and 40 minutes, it was a very small venue and we weren't aloud to film or take pictures, so I'm very sorry I don't have anything to show you but I can tell you that it was AMAZING!
While I lived in Prague I lived with a ballet dancer, so I know that she had to train/rehearsal almost everyday and then even perform at night the same day so I can only imagine how many hours they have to rehearsal per day, they probably have different casts, so is not always the same group performing every night.
The show was mind blowing for me and the fact that they make music out of ANYTHING, literally anything, from a bag, a box of matches, (cigarette) lighter, newspapers, garbage cans, tubes, brooms, etc etc. And the amount of energy that they have... I want to know what do they eat that gives them so much energy!
Sometimes the audience "participated" in the show, and by this I mean that we imitated their claps... yeah my hands kinda hurt in the end, so avoid having many rings on your hands haha.
Oh and also, avoid the front row (the closest to the stage) because you might end up taking a shower. There was one part of the show that they use water and there was a moment of SPLASH ssoooo yeah, the people sitting in the front row most likely got wet.
Honestly I wouldn't mind watching it again, if things go well for me I might even go again. The ticket prices go from £20 to £55. As a souvenir I bought some pins.

Musical Friday #119

EN: Salutations from Great Britain!
Oh guys what a journey! I've been here for a week now, and in case you didn't know I don't have a laptop so I have to use my cousin's one.
Let me take you back to last Wednesday (18th of Sept.). I woke up early in the morning and went to the hairdresser to cut my hair. At the beginning I thought that the man did a fairly good job but now I'm seeing waayyy to many layers for my taste -__-. After that I spent the rest of the day at home packing the rest of my little stuff till 2:00AM uuuffffff.
On the 19th, the day of my journey I woke up at 7:30AM, got ready and left my house at around 9:30AM and I still had to buy some bag lockers because I couldn't find any of the 3 that I have -_-. So I bought that and a bag-belt. Once we were at the airport and I did my check-in and after a bit I went to the waiting room. So we had to take a bus to get to our plane and once we were in the bus we went to our plane, stayed there 30 seconds and then went back to where we were... WTF? Then the Lady said that the airplane didn't have any cabin crew. After 3 minutes we went back to the airplane and that's when I noticed.... there were like four to five babies in the plane... UUUWWWHHAATTT????? And 3 of them were close to me.... Lord have mercy.....
After like 3 hours flying we had to stay in the air for half an hour and my ears couldn't deal with it anymore.
So after we landed, I picked up my bag aaaaaand guess what? It was damaged, it was ripped on the side. Luckily since I worked for a airline in the past I knew exactly what to do. So I went to the counter and filled a paper and they gave me a new bag straight away, I was quite surprised. My bag was from Vaag, light blue, medium size, I bought it in 2010 but I never used it, this was the bag's first journey ever :S. They gave me a bigger bag in black, so I went to a corner to transfer all my stuff to the new bag and I had to leave my blue bag behind since I was going home by train and not by car.
After I left the bag area, the first thing I did was to go to Costa Coffee - ooohhh I've missed you so much - got a Cappucino and then went to the Underground. At one point in my journey I had to chain trains and as I getting out of the train my small pink trolley handle (the one that goes up and down) BROKE! OMG are the Gods of the Bags against me today? But I did manage to get home, bless the two gentleman that helped me carry my new massive black bag up the stairs.
On Friday I spent most of my day unpacking and at night a friend of mine invited me and my cousin to go watch the show STOMP. It was sooooo good! Unfortunately we were aloud to take photos.
On the next day I went to visit another cousin of mine and stupid little Karen forgot to "bip" her Oyster card (travel card) on the machine and of course that day the train was full of security guys and I got a £40 fine, FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!
Oh well, other than that, I've been at home, starting to apply for jobs and etc... so I will leave you with some music now.

Busy times ahead...

EN: I know... I know I haven't been the best Blogger in the world... but was I ever? HAHA NOT!
Some of you may already know this but a week from now I'm flying to London, I've been saying this for the last month or so.
I haven't been able to sit and focus and do a proper Blog post in a while. And I know... I know there are tones of Bloggers out there that manage to study+work+be a wife+be a mother+1000 things and still do a blog post on a daily basis but that's them and this is me.
I've been dealing with my shiz making sure I don't forget to do anything before I leave, I even made a list of "things to do", no joke because my memory is getting that bad.
Other than that I'm starting my goodbye season for the 85582877 time. My friend are probably tired of me leaving the country (because I lived abroad 3 times) and going like "How many times is she going to do this again?" haha.
In any case I'm a bit more active on other social medias like Tumblr, Pinterest and my Facebook Fan Page. My Twitter is mostly links of things that I post on those websites and videos that I like on Youtube. And speaking of Youtube yeah that is on stand-by as well. I'm trying to see if I'm able to film a couple of videos before I go.
OH want to know something funny... that actually is not funny... I don't have a laptop... sooo I don't know how am I going to blog once I'm there. Where I'm staying they have a computer buuut it's not the same you know? I'll figure something out, if things go well I will buy a new laptop once I'm there. Although I don't fancy the English keyboard, because the signs are in different positions and others that are part of the Portuguese vocabulary I have to figure it out where they are -_-. Any suggestions of good laptops (no Mac/Apple stuff please).
Well that is all for now... I will see you tomorrow.

Guerlain - La Petite Robe Noire

DSCF3257

Hello everyone! Today I´m sharing with you some picture of a Eau de Parfum sample from Guerlain "La Petite Robe Noire" which I think it means "The little black dress". When I was still in London, every Wednesday morning there is this free magazine at the entrance of the Underground station called Stylist. Is mainly for women, talking about fashion, beauty, food, traveling, etc.... And one of the editions of June came with a page that basically said something like, if I took that specific magazine to a SELFRIDGES shop (I think it had to be the one in Oxford Street) I would get a free sample of the perfume. Initially I didn´t think I would get one, simply because of the fact that it´s LONDON, a city fuuullll of people, a city that girls do love their beauty stuff, and better if their for free lol, plus the fact that I would only leave my job at 17:30 and by the time I reached Oxford Street would be like 18:00, by that time I thought that they would be no samples left, ´cause there was a warning of a limited stock. But lucky for me I managed to get one sample yeahi!

Quick post! #5

On my way to London.
Hello everyone! Yes I’m still alive, and No I didn’t forget about you guys :).
Soooooo yeah as you know I’m in London, so far so good. I arrived on Saturday, got my 2 bags, nothing was lost :D. I was so tired, a family member of mine picked me up, damn talk about a big journey, all the way from London’s Heathrow airport (on one side of London) till basically the other side of the city pppfffff. That same day that I arrived I went later on to a Bday of someone, ggeeezzzz, you can imagine how dead I was.
On Monday it was my first day at the company, learned a few things, and now I’m doing it. The people there are nice, the office is quite small compared to my internship experience in Prague. But is the same vibe in terms of international people (or at least European).

Is time to PACK!

Here I go again! In just like 2 days and a half I will be flying early in the morning to London >.<.
God I still can't believe it's happening, and still I have so much shiz to do. I haven't been able to Blog as much as I wanted for this year so far, but I really been busy, going here and there to buy stuff, take care of other stuff before I leave, and now I have to start packing.
I'm not a light traveler, I'm defo one of those people that when they travel they take their house behind haha -_-.
You would assume that with all the travelling I've been doing for the last 3 years I would have the type of situation dominated LIKE A BOSS, but not quite.
This week I "discovered" two like beauty Youtubers/Bloggers from the U.K., and as I watched their hauls videos of clothes and makeup I started thinking.... "huummm I don't need to take all my handbags, much makeup, many this and that, 'cause I won't control myself and I'm defo gonna SHOP over there muuuhahaha". So by watching their video it made me rethink what I'm going to take with me to London.
Okei, of I go now, to continue with the packing, tomorrow I have to run some more errands >.< uuuff!
