Series that I'm watching #5

Whenever Fall/Autumn comes along I feel more in the mood to watch series. I mean in just a couple of days I binge watched the first season of the  Flash... enough said. Here some of the series that I will continue to follow and want to start watching.

Series that I'm watching #4

(From Dracula)

EN: Since moving to London I lost track of the series that I was watching and the website where I used to see my series got shut down and I'm not really a big fan of watching series online because... patience (for the loading/buffering stuff) is not on my side. So in the meanwhile I started watching other series on TV.

May I just say that where I live we have Virgin Media TV cable and it kinda sucks, the TV shows in general goodness gracious @_@. I now understand why when I was in Portugal another TV Cable company called ZON used to try and impress us with the fact that you can also have ZON here in the U.K. and I was always like "WHY? They have also cable tv, they have so many deals for internet and a lot of places have FREE WI-FI.", this is way, because their programming kinda sucks. There are certain areas in London that you know is full of Portuguese people because they have ZON (parabolic) antennas outside their house windows haha.

This face may look familiar, specially if you watched The Tudors, I didn't (ups) but still I know him from other films and what not but now he is starting in Dracula (2013). The series is based in London but Dracula has an American accent, he is pretending to be an American entrepreneur named Alexander Grayson. The first season finish last week and it only has 10 episodes and I have no idea when is it coming back. But overall it's very good.

EN: Hello Bananas!

So I was suppose to upload a video and do a Blog post about a little D.I.Y. project (in case you saw my Facebook page) but life sometimes doesn't go as we planned, which was the case. And ended up having an aunt of mine and her daughter over here, my mom understood that they were coming on Tuesday but nope it was Monday. And then today I went with my aunt to downtown Lisbon for some shopping and boooyy I'm tired.

Anyways today's post is about some series that I've added to my list, currently watching and want to watch.

Starting with Sherlock (2010). Yeah The Sherlock Holmes The! Like the creators have described it in a way "Imagine if Sherlock was alive now." BOOM, there you go. At first I was like "hhhhmmm I don't knooowwww...". I'm quite a fan of the Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law's movie version, I think they have done a great job, so when I started watching the series I didn't expect much. One night they were showing on AXN the 2 seasons (Saturday and Sunday I think) so I started watching but since it was late at night I fell asleep sometimes, so I decided to watched it online aaaaaaannnnd I was hocked like a like a junkie with his drugs lol. 

Either than the fact that the series are so well filmed and put together the actors are AMAZE-BALLS, which makes the series even better. Sherlock Holmes is played by Benedict Cumberbatch (who also recently played Khan on Star Trek Into Drakness) and John Watson is played by Martin Freeman. PLEASE WATCH IT! So far it has 2 seasons, 3 episodes each. Each episode is like a movie because is about an hour and half.

Recently it has been announced that the 3rd season will only come out in 2014, so every fan of the series is climbing up the walls! The series basically come out every two years x_X.

Next is Whitechapel (2009). I never heard of this series and I caught the first episode on AXN Black by luck and I was hooked from the get go. So far there are 3 seasons and seasons 1 and 2 have 3 episodes each and season 3 has 6 episodes. So it's a crime, mystery, thriller type of series and on the 1st season apparently there is this man that is recreating the famous Jack The Ripper murders and of course the police is trying to catch him. Aaahhhhh it's very good.

Another series that I discovered while zapping through channels was Wallander (2008). Okei so I will tell you what I knew and know now. When I started watching the series I saw Tom Hiddleston's nose and was like "Wooow wow wow, wait a minute... is that Tom?", so you can say that the reason I started watching the rest of the episode was because of him. 

At first I had no idea what was going on, I only knew that they were Police Officers/Detectives, most of the main characters seem to be from the U.K. but the place where they were did not look like the U.K., although I don't know the U.K. top to bottom something was off. Then I noticed that Wallander had his steering wheel on the left side of the car, so it's not in the U.K.... WHERE ARE THEY? So I looked it up on IMDb and they are located in Sweden. From what I understood the series is based of a novel from the author Henning Mankell buuuut since 2005 there is also a Swedish version of Wallander (which I haven't seen it yet) and then came the English version with different actors in 2008.
This is a slow-paced series and is also a mini-series, each season contains about 3 episodes. The main character is Kurt Wallander which seems to be a very troubled man.

This next series is no news from most people, it's Hannibal (2013). I've known Hannibal (the movies) for ages now but I never saw them and I had NO IDEA this was based of an actual true story. On Tumblr I see fans making MEMEs/GIFs saying that he his the most polite criminal and I'm all like "What the hell is that all about?". I haven't watch the series yet but is on my list. The first season has 13 episodes.

Believe it or not there is another Sherlock Holmes series out there but on this one Sherlock (played by Jonny Lee Miller) is still from the U.K. but apparently he lives in New York and Dr. Watson is played by a woman actress Lucy Liu. Elementary (2012) is the name of this version of Sherlock Holmes and it's also placed in the 21st Century. This series is also on my list to watch.

Series that I'm watching #2

EN: Hello Bananas! I've done a post like this about two years ago [here], since then not much has changed, I'm still a big series consumer. I'm still watching/following the series that I mentioned on that previous, although I have to catch up with the Ringer, Hart of Dixie and The Big Bang Theory. 

And now I added a few more series to the list.

PT: Olá Bananas! Eu fiz um post semelhante a este faz quase dois anos [aqui], desde então não houve grande alterações, eu continuo a ser uma grande consumidora de séries. Eu ainda vejo as mesmas séries que mencionei no meu outro post, embora tenho que me actualizar com uns quantos episódios do Ringer, Hart of Dixie e The Big Bang Theory.

How's that Girl?

EN: How's that Girl? It's Jess! 

Hello Bananas! I'm a sort of a series Junkie but when I love a series once it's over I watch them and re-watch them and re-watch them (I can NOT tell you how many times I've seen Will & Grace) and I get stuck in a rot. Anyways last month I was watching TV and came across this series called "New Girl", now I already new the existence of this series but I never bothered to go and check it out from the start, so that day I saw 2 episodes and I was hooked!

Right now I'm up to date, I've seen the 1st season and now I'm on the 2nd season. Today (Tuesday) it airs a new episode but I'm only able to see it on the next day.

In case you don't know the story, it's about a sweet and innocent girl named Jess, the season starts with her breaking up with her boyfriend - because he cheated on her - and she moves out of the house and goes to live with 3 other boys. The boys, Nick, Schmidt and Winston are all different from each other but very similar in others areas. And then you also have Jess' best friend Cece.

If you like funny, laughable series with the frequent love stories here and there, this might be for you.

 

Dexter's Laboratory V.S. The Big Bang Theory

One of my favourite ultimate childhood cartoons is Dexter's Laboratory, I saw them over and over and over again, I used to know so many quotes, that I would use on a day to day basis, specially when talking with Akuma Kanji. Another show that I adore is The Big Bang Theory, so when I saw these two images, I was like ":O sssoooo trrruuuueeeee!" haha. Now.... do you think there is a possibility that the T.B.B.T. got some inspiration from Dexter Lab cartoons? Of course the story line is different, but there are some similarities.

Dexter, the end of Season 6 :(

No dia 18 de Dezembro deu o último episodio da sexta temporada de Dexter :(.

Como dizia, acho eu que era no jogo do Hugo, “ooohhh logo agora que o jogo estava a aquecer…”.

Para quem não conhece Dexter, é uma série composta por cerca de 12 episódios por temporada, sobre um expert em sangue da Policia de Miami, queeeee mata gente MÁ :D, gente que obviamente devia ser presa pelos crimes que cometeram mas que de alguma forma conseguem escapar à prisão, entonces o Dexter trata deles. Eu AMO esta série!

Eu achei esta sexta temporada espectacular, teve ali uma reviravolta de surpresa, e depois um final BANG OMG! Claramente haverá uma sétima temporada maaaasss “rumour has it” que a próxima temporada só virá em 2014! SSAAYY WHHAAATTT?

Eu ainda não sei o porquê desta decisão, pode ser que alguns dos actores podem estar envolvidos em outros projectos; pode ser que o actor principal Michael C. Hall ainda esteja em recuperação, ele teve cancro recentemente ou então eles simplesmente decidiram voltar só em 2014…

Bem se isto for verdade, eu vou dar em maluca (ou não) por ter de esperar 2 anos pela próxima temporada.

On the 18th of December it aired the last episode of the sixth season of Dexter :(.

For those that don’t know Dexter, it’s a series made of 12 episodes per season, about an expert in blood sparer from Miami Police, thaaattt kills BAD people :D, people that obviously should be arrested for the crimes that they committed but that somehow they managed not to go to prison, soooo Dexter takes care of them. I love this series!

I think that this sixth season was awesome, there was like a surprised spin and then a BANG finally OMG! Clearly there will be a seventh season bbbbuuuutttt “rumour has it” that the next season will only air in 2014! SSAAYY WHHAAATTT?

I still don’t know the reason of this decision, , it could be that some of the other actors are involved in other projects; it could be that the main actor, Michael C. Hall is still in recovery, he had cancer recently or they just simply decided to come back in 2014…

Well if this is true, I will go crazy bananas (or not) because I have to wait 2 years for the next season.

Series that I'm watching #1

Hi everyone, how's your week so far? Mine is going from bad to worse...

It started with a left foot on Monday, when my laptop... DIED! -_- What happened was, the electricity went and came back in like 2 seconds, my laptop was on, and at the time I was in the bathroom, when I came out to check on the laptop, I thought that it was just simply off, but no... it didn't even turned back on. At first I thought and I was hoping that the problem was just on the charger, but no again, it was the laptop. I got a call and now to fix it will cost about 135€ :/ , and now I'm waiting for the most important thing.... if the hard disk IS OK!!! Yes some of the stuff I have copies, but the most recent stuff I don't :(. BAH!!! Oh and a thing I learned is that travelling in the airplane with the laptop, is not good for it. Even though is a laptop, you can easily can take it here and there, you have to be careful with it, and the vibration on the airplne, can F*** up your electronic stuff. In total my laptop has flown 8 times, a total off like 24hours. Ufff so enough of that for now...

Since I haven't been doing much, I have been re-watching old series, watching some new episodes of certain series that are still on air and discovering new series do watch.

I've been watching Supernatural since day 1! These Winchester brothers always have some new Demon to take care of, in order to save the world from the darkness. I'm so surprised that this show is still going, is on the 7th season you guys! How much can they invent to keep this show on going? They both have died, and came back, fought vampires, demons, ghosts, Angels and Mr Lucifer itself! I mean C'MOOON!

New Season of Dexter-Season 06

I'm a big fan of this serie, so I can't wait to see what's going to happen on this new season, after the shocking end of the 5th season!

Do you know, or like this serie? I know it night be a cup of tea for many people - since involves a lot of killing and blood.

I already saw the first episode, and now I kinda get the purpose of the new season's poster with the bloody wings... Dexter "goes religious" lol.

Sex and the City FAIL!

I decided to start watching Sex and the City, I've seen the movies, but never (maybe 2 or 3 episodes) seen the series. So far so good, you sure do learn a couple of things about women, men, and relationships.

Today I saw Episode 13 from the 2nd season, and boy what a FAIL! You can see the reflection of the filming crew on the TV, oh boy!

So I saw this Tag on Silvia’s Blog and she basically tagged anyone that feels like answering this.

Some of the things that I like, she also likes it, it wasn’t done on purpose, it just means that we have similar tastes on some stuff.

So here it goes,

1- I like to eat – From Portuguese, to Mozambique, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Mexican…

2- I like watching series and movies – Right now I’m following Gossip Girl, Supernatural, Weeds, How I met your Mother, and Dexter…

3-  I like Skulls – I have a cup, earrings, a necklace, scarf, coat, top, panties lol, and I ain’t gonna stop XD

4-   I love to travel and meet new places – It always been a passion of mine. Besides knowing at least a dozen of cities in my country (Portugal), I’ve been in 4 other countries, Germany, Mozambique, United Kingdom and Spain. And I hope that one day I will have a good job that pays well so that I will be able to travel around a bit.

5-  I like meeting people from other countries – I meet like a hundred of people when I was studying abroad in Nottingham, U.K. for a year.

6-   I looooooooooove music <3 – Dozens of different music genres, of many different languages.

7-   And I also like to dance – If a nightclub passes good music I can dance for hours.

8-   I like Anime – cartoons from Japan.

9-   I like taking photos – I always try to bring my camera with me, whenever I have family gatherings, go out at night, to a house party, to a nightclub or whatever. But I feel like I need a new camera, a smaller one, but still with a good quality. It’s just easier to carry a smaller camera when I go out at night.

10-    I love cuddling – Yeah I like it :p I love being with a guy and just simply cuddling on the sofa or in bed ^.^

Re-watching, Grey's Anatomy...

I know that Grey's Anatomy is on the 7th season now, but I haven't been following since the 2nd season I guess. I that time I was focused in other series, so G.A. started to stay behind... so now I'm catching up, since I have A LOT of free time on my hands for a while -_-

Your favourite Murderer is BACK!!!

Last week the new Season of Dexter started. If you follow the serie, you know that the end of the 4th season, I think it was an end that NO ONE expected. It ended with a sad BANG =(.
So I'm curious to see what's gonna happen on this 5th season, how are they gonna still make this series interesting. I saw the 1st episode and I must say, it was in a way calm, very "slow", with a little suprise in the end, when Dexter breaks one of his father's rules when murdering someone.
Oh well, let's see what happens next shall we?
And Oh, I've heard that Julia Stile is going to appear in this season huuummm.

O.K. I know this series have been around for 3 years but the truth is I never saw one episode. Or at least one from the beginning till the end. I thought that it was going to be boring, oh teenagers, love, small group of friends all end up making out with each other meh!

But I actually like it. The 4th Season is going to start and it’s placed in Paris…. Uuuhh la la!

I do recommend it for girls :P
